Ryzenberg On: Touch of Tartan

Ever since I was a kid, I have been a fan of tartan prints. These patterns, mostly associated with the Scottish Highlands and kilts are also a holiday season favorite.

In order not to turn into a Loch Ness monster of fashion, there are subtle ways to sport this print that are chic and timeless. Check out some of my favorite looks and don’t be afraid to try it out yourself.

A chunky scarf paired with cozy knits and jeans.

Taylor Tomasi Hill takes to a new level of boldness, pairing it with stiletto heels andother prints.

The Duchess wore this Alexander McQueen number to her Alma Mater in Scotland. Did we actually expect anything less?!?! And what about those new bangs? Majestic indeed.

Classic and simple: Red, white & blue

Like TTH, don’t be afraid to mix and match prints. This edgy look is young and fun and it juxtaposes a more preppy feel with leopard, leather and studs.

Ready to add tartan to your wardrobe? These simple pieces will add a festive touch perfect not just for December, but the cold months and even spring (paired with cut-offs or white denim)

Ryzenberg On: Chambray Wishes

It’s light, it’s easy to wear and it doesn’t wrinkle — yup, I am referring to chambray.

This is seriously the perfect fabric for spring and summer as it can be dressed up, down and it’s a perfect staple for a vacation or work ensemble.

Pair it with printed or colored jeans, some jewelry and sandals and you are set to go. As for the 9-to-5 look, a pair of trousers, a blazer and heels and you will be comfy in the office.

Chambray dresses are also perfect and can even go from day to night with the right accessories. This color pretty much combines with everything and it’s a nice alternative to sun dresses and maxi pleats.

If you live in denim, it’s also easy to combine it and avoid looking like you are sporting a Canadian tuxedo! Just make sure the shirt is slightly different from the jeans (or shorts) and you will have a winning look!

These gals sure know how to rock it.
