Ryzenberg On: InstaMemories 1.13

Hello February! Is it me, or did January simply fly by? It seems the older I get, the quicker the months pass and with that being said, I leave you with a few January ‘13 highlights I captured and shared on my Instagram:

1. Dusting off some bikinis and warm weather duds for a visit to the Sunshine State.

2. 30,000 feet up and clear skies while passing through Colorado.

3. One of my favorite gals came to visit me!

4. A delicious piece of Key Lime Pie I indulged in while visiting la familia.

5. Spent a few days in the land of Lily Pulitzer, monograms and mansions.

6. Warm temperatures are the perfect times to sport some brights.

7. Snapping some photos while dining al fresco.

8. Nerds — these little boxes have been a part of my diet for many years

9. Florida was fun, but San Francisco is where the heart is!

What’s best? Seeing the city by the bay front and center on the field for the Super Bowl. I love all of the red and gold all over the city, and everyone is in the spirit of sports. Dogs, cats, babies — everyone is sporting some pride.

Who has it better than SF? Well, no one!

Hope you have a fantastic weekend.

A week in sunny Florida means whipping out some of my favorite staples that are difficult to wear during the winter months in the city by the Bay!

Love the anchors, white pants and loafers that are perfect for running errands enjoying the sun and of course to devour a slice of key lime pie.

Yes, I took a bit of a break not for the Olympics, but because I was away in paradise for a family vacation. It was fantastic to bask in the sun (with SPF, of course) go snorkeling, dine al fresco and have macaws wake me up instead of an alarm clock.

Here are some Instagrams from my week in the Riviera Maya. Seeing the familia is always a treat, as we always end up laughing, spending time together and bonding over frozen lemonades, Margaritas and of course chocolate!

My beloved hats made special cameos, since you all know I am all about avoiding the wrinkles.

Nice to be back and be sure to see more posts about the vacay, as I am chock full of ideas for many types of getaways. I am ready for the next one!

With summer certainly comes bright colors, bold prints and memorable ensembles. It’s fun to express yourself in an array of patterns but always remember…moderation is the key!
Florals are fantastic, just pair them with classic trousers to evoke a nice contrast. Not ready to brave the bulbs completely? Just add a bag or a scarf to your look to add some pizazz.
Some of the most talked about prints of the season must be Altuzarra’s S/S 2012 collection, which got accolades when it graced the runway in September. These are timeless pieces that spice up any summer.

Ryzenberg On: From Jamaica with Love

So Memorial Day came and went and Summer is almost here — of course all this sunshine, (even in the city by the bay) BBQs and fun fashions have me thinking of one thing…I need a vacation in a tropical setting.

There is one hidden gem that’s making me crazy because it blends my love of Bond, beaches and bikinis into one incredible setting: The GoldenEye in Jamaica.

This enclave on the Oracabessa Bay in the north coast of the island, plays a special homage to the man that loves shaken, not stirred martinis, beautiful women, fast cars and living life to the fullest.

The history behind this resort is what really captivates me. This used to be the home of Ian Fleming, who spent time in Jamaica during WWII and decided to call the land of rum and reggae home in 1946. It was in this lush property that Fleming created one of pop culture’s most iconic and beloved characters — James Bond.

With guests such as Elizabeth Taylor, Truman Capote and Laurence Olivier among many more, you know this tropical hideaway is chock full of stories. But the legacy continued even post 007 days when Bob Marley got cold feet and decided not buy it deeming it “too posh” for his taste so his producer, Chris Blackwell, purchased the estate in 1976.

It seems Fleming wasn’t the only one expressing his creativity at the GoldenEye. While on holiday, (as the Brits would say) Sting wrote one of the Police’s most popular hits ‘Every Breath You Take’ in 1983.

Now it’s my chance to live my inner Bond girl (a la Ursula Andress, of course) and lose myself in the wondrous 52-acres filled with, cottages, two restaurants, a spa and of course the Fleming villa. All I want is a cocktail, a few bikinis and sunscreen (yup, protection is key) and of course a hot companion won’t be turned away.

This locale sure is made for those who seek rest & relaxation mixed in with a bit of history, adventure and an imagination; Oh if only these walls could talk.

My bags are packed and I am ready to check-in and enjoy sunshine galore. Who is coming with me?
